IT consultancy and AI implementation

Most AI projects at SME scale fail for the same reason most CRM projects failed: the tool was chosen before the problem was defined, and nobody used it. We start at the other end.

The failure pattern

A business decides it needs AI. Someone is asked to look into it. A platform is selected, a subscription bought, a pilot run, and eighteen months later the tool is paid for and not used. This is exactly what happened with CRM systems across the SME market for two decades, and the cause is identical: the technology was chosen before anybody wrote down which problem it was solving or who would have to change how they work.

We start with the process, not the product. Frequently the outcome is a smaller, cheaper intervention than the one being considered, and occasionally the honest answer is that the current system is fine and the problem is elsewhere.

What we do

  • Process assessment. Where time actually goes, where errors actually happen, and which of those are worth fixing.
  • Tool selection. Vendor-neutral. We take no commissions or referral fees from any software vendor, which materially changes the advice.
  • Implementation. Configuration, data migration, integration with what you already run.
  • Adoption. Training and the follow-through afterwards. This is the part that determines whether any of it works, and the part most projects skip.
  • Documentation. Written down, so the knowledge does not leave when a person does.

Where AI genuinely helps an SME today

Use caseRealistic benefit
Document extraction and data entryStrong. Invoices, forms, shipping documents. Reliable and measurable.
Drafting and translationStrong, with review. Particularly useful in an Arabic and English working environment.
Search across internal documentsGood. Often more valuable than anything more ambitious.
Customer service triageModerate. Works for routing and first response, less well as a full replacement.
Forecasting and analysisWeak at SME data volumes. Usually not enough history to be meaningful.
Autonomous decision-makingNot yet, in any process with real consequences. Be sceptical of claims otherwise.

Two things worth saying plainly

Data protection. Putting client or employee data into a third-party AI service is a decision with legal consequences, and the UAE has its own data protection regime. Where a deployment touches personal data we will flag it and, where needed, bring in a qualified adviser. We are not lawyers and will not pretend the question is simpler than it is.
We take no vendor commissions. A great deal of implementation advice in this market is reseller advice with a margin attached. We charge you a fee and recommend what fits, including recommending the cheap option, or none.

Fees

Fixed fee for assessment, fixed fee or retainer for implementation, quoted against a written scope. Software licence costs are yours and paid directly to the vendor, never through us.

Whose side we are on

Al Hisn Partners acts for the client and only the client. We are retained by you, we take instructions from you, and our fee is paid by you.

We do not accept a fee, commission, rebate or referral payment from the other side of a transaction, or from any counterparty, agent, provider or institution we introduce or work alongside. Not disclosed, not discounted, not at all. If one is offered, we decline it. This is a strict conflict of interest rule and it holds across every service we provide.

We hold no vendor partnerships, resale margins or referral agreements with any software provider. If we recommend a system it is because it fits, and you buy it directly at the price they publish.

Common questions

Do you resell software?

No. We take no commissions or referral fees from any vendor. You pay licence costs directly to the vendor and pay us a fee for the work. This is why we are able to recommend the cheaper option or no new tool at all.

Is AI actually useful for a company our size?

For some things, genuinely yes: document extraction, drafting, translation and internal search all work well and pay back quickly. For forecasting and autonomous decision-making at SME data volumes, generally not yet. We will tell you which category your idea falls into.

What about our data going into an AI tool?

It is a real question with legal consequences, and the UAE has its own data protection regime. Where a deployment touches personal data we flag it and bring in a qualified adviser if needed.

We bought a CRM nobody uses. Can you fix it?

Often, yes, and usually more cheaply than replacing it. Non-adoption is almost always a process and training problem rather than a software problem, and switching platforms without addressing that just repeats the experience.

How long does a typical implementation take?

Assessment is usually two to three weeks. Implementation depends on scope, but for an SME most worthwhile projects run four to twelve weeks including the adoption work, which we treat as part of the project rather than an afterthought.

Who pays you, and do you ever take a fee from the other side?

Our client pays us, and only our client. We do not accept a fee, commission, rebate or referral payment from a counterparty, or from any agent, provider, supplier or institution we introduce or work alongside. If one is offered, we decline it. This applies across every service we provide, without exception.

Tell us what you need

We reply within one business day. There is no charge for an initial assessment, and we will tell you plainly if this is not something we can help with.
